What is Gato Gadgets?
Gato Gadgets is a law-enforcement officer-owned tactical gear company focused on providing quality equipment at accessible prices. We work to carefully source, inspect, and evaluate the products we offer while keeping costs reasonable for law enforcement professionals and responsible citizens.
What products does Gato Gadgets offer?
Our product selection includes ballistic helmets, night vision equipment, tactical accessories, lasers, and tactical apparel. Availability may change as new products are evaluated and added.

Gato Gadgets is based in Arizona, USA.
Do you offer a law enforcement or military discount?
Discount programs are available on select products. Contact us before ordering for current eligibility and pricing.
Ballistic Helmets
Are Gato Gadgets ballistic helmets tested?
We believe ballistic protection should be backed by testing, not marketing claims. All helmet models are submitted for independent ballistic testing to verify their performance against the specified threat level rating.
Testing information and available reports will be provided or referenced with the applicable product whenever possible.
Are your helmets NIJ certified?
The NIJ does not operate a certification program for ballistic helmets in the same manner as its body armor compliance program. We therefore avoid describing a helmet as “NIJ certified” because certification no longer exists.
Instead, we clearly state the test standard, threat level, ammunition, velocities, and available independent laboratory results applicable to each helmet model.
What does Level IIIA mean on a ballistic helmet?
Level IIIA generally refers to protection against specified handgun threats under the referenced test standard. Actual performance depends on the specific helmet, test protocol, projectile, velocity, shot location, environmental conditions, and other factors.
Always refer to the individual product specifications and test documentation for the exact protection represented by a particular Gato Gadgets helmet.
Does a ballistic helmet guarantee protection from injury?
No. No ballistic helmet can guarantee protection against every projectile, impact, fragmentation event, or circumstance. Ballistic impacts can still result in serious injury or death even when a projectile does not completely penetrate the helmet.
Ballistic equipment should always be used within its stated limitations.
Are your helmets inspected before shipping?
Yes. Gato Gadgets performs a quality-control inspection before helmets are released for shipment. Inspection includes the shell, hardware, rails, NVG shroud, retention system, padding, finish, labeling, and general workmanship. We receive the bare shells and finish assembly in house.
Are Gato Gadgets helmets made in the U.S?
No. Our helmet shells are manufactured overseas using Teijin aramid materials to help us keep costs competitive without compromising our quality standards.
Teijin is globally recognized manufacturer of high-performance aramid fibers, with materials used in demanding protective and industrial applications around the world.
Gato Gadgets is a U.S.-based, LEO-owned company, our helmets are subject to our quality-control process and independent ballistic testing to verify performance.
We believe in being transparent about where our products come from and letting the materials, testing, and performance speak for themselves.
Night Vision
What night vision products do you offer?
Depending on availability, we may offer PVS-14 monoculars, binocular night vision systems, image intensifier tubes, housings, mounts, and accessories.
Specifications are listed individually because image intensifier performance can vary from unit to unit.
Does my night vision device include a specification sheet?
When an individual image intensifier tube includes a manufacturer specification sheet, it will be included or identified in the product listing. Product pages will state what documentation accompanies the unit.
Are blemishes or spots normal in night vision?
Small spots or cosmetic imperfections can occur in image intensifier tubes and do not necessarily indicate a defective unit. We recommend reviewing the individual unit’s photographs and specifications when available before purchasing.
Can night vision be exported outside the United States?
Certain night vision products, components, technical data, and related defense articles may be subject to U.S. export-control laws and regulations, including ITAR and/or EAR requirements.
Gato Gadgets will not export controlled products in violation of applicable U.S. law. Customers are responsible for complying with applicable laws regarding possession, transfer, use, and resale.
Ordering & Shipping
How quickly are orders shipped?
In-stock products are generally processed as quickly as possible. Processing times may vary based on the product, order volume, verification requirements, weekends, and holidays.
Estimated processing or lead times will be shown on the applicable product page whenever possible.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. When tracking is available, customers will receive tracking information after their order has been processed and prepared for shipment.
Do you ship internationally?
International availability depends on the product. Certain tactical, night vision, ballistic, laser, or defense-related products may be restricted from export.
Do not attempt to circumvent U.S. export restrictions through freight forwarders or third parties.
What happens if my package arrives damaged?
Contact Gato Gadgets as soon as possible and retain the original packaging, shipping materials, and product. Photos of the package and product may be required so we can evaluate the issue and assist with a shipping claim when applicable.
Returns & Warranty
Do Gato Gadgets products include a warranty?
Warranty coverage varies by product. The applicable warranty period and terms will be stated on the individual product page.
Some products may be covered directly by Gato Gadgets, while others may carry a manufacturer’s warranty.
What does the warranty cover?
Unless otherwise stated for a specific product, warranty coverage is intended for qualifying defects in materials or workmanship under normal intended use.
Damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modification, improper installation, abuse, accidents, improper storage, or use outside the product’s intended purpose may not be covered.
Can I return an item?
Return eligibility depends on the product and its condition. Certain products may have restrictions due to their nature, condition, customization, or regulatory considerations.

Product Authenticity & Quality
How does Gato Gadgets keep prices competitive?
We focus on efficient sourcing, practical packaging, controlled overhead, and selecting products based on performance and value rather than charging a premium simply for branding.
Affordable does not mean unverified. Products involving protective or technical performance are evaluated according to the standards and specifications applicable to that product.
Why should I buy from Gato Gadgets?
We are building Gato Gadgets around three priorities:

We want customers to know what they are purchasing. That means clearly communicating specifications, testing, product limitations, warranty coverage, and what is included with each product.
If we cannot substantiate a performance claim, we don’t want to make it.
